Extremely upset and overcome with grief

How am I suppose to move on when I miss them so much it hurts? Like no pain I have ever experienced before.

I am in my 20's and miss my parent terribly. They were my best friend and the best person on earth I ever knew. It has been a couple weeks however I can't really accept the death yet but I am already debilitated in grief.

Can you tell us a little more about what happened?

Re: Extremely upset and overcome with grief

Thank you for your reply.
Cancer took them away, it was so hard to see suffering like that. For someone otherwise healthy to fight to live and want to live so bad but not be able to is really tough. We shared such an amazing bond. And I wasn't the only one to think so highly of such a special person. I was there during that moment when the last breathe was taken, right beside them. I took care of them the best I could along with other family members. I remember all the good times and believe in God and believe in an afterlife but the pain is just unreal and horrible. I am having trouble functioning in every day life.

Why don't you take a look ata book called healing after loss, daily meditations for working through grief (Hickman)
You can pace yourself through the process

Thank you for the suggestion. I usually love reading. It is just hard to do anything or go anywhere. I think I might be sinking into the first of a depression. I am trying to fight that, as it isn't what they would want and it isn't productive for those around me.
It is hard to believe that so many people go through these experiences in life with people they love and cherish.
