Has anyone had problems with hair loss associated with their meds? If so, which meds, and how soon did you notice it?

Have always had thin hair, but it seems that since I started Dilantin six months ago I am sweeping up the bathroom floor on a daily basis. Recently cut my shoulder-length hair to a pixie because it was looking pretty bad due to thinning.

I was on neurontin and my hair fell out in clumps.

Hello, our daughter was on Depakote and her hair thinned drastically (lost body hair as well-arms, legs, etc.) and she lost a LOT of weight (110 lbs down to 88 lbs). Removed from Depakote within 6 months. We went to a ped (Katie was 14 at the time) dermatologist to make sure it was the med and not alopecia or another problem. It was the med. She was on Neurontin following that and had no trouble. Her hair came back in fine. Is now on Keppra and Lamictal with no hair trouble. Stress also plays a big factor in hair loss, per the ped derm. You may find it all has to do with ones own body chemistry.
