Estrostep and hair loss?

Hi, has anyone experienced hair loss with estrostep? I know the pill effects everyone differently, but I was on yasmin for 9 months and my hair has fallen out so much. I have just started the estrostep and I'm hoping it will help with my hair... I'm going to see the dermatologist tomm. to see what she has to say. Would love to hear anyone's experiences!!! thanks!

Re: Estrostep and hair loss?

hi,

I haven't used estrostep but i was on depo-provera and had hair loss on it. I have been off of it for about 5 months and have the Pargard IUD. I have noticed new hair is growing back, but it's a very slow process. All BC do list loss of hair as a side effect. I hope that everything works out for you.

This is NOT a good pill for the hair. I'd strongly advise that you don't take it. I was on Estrostep for 2 years and my hair fell out horribly. When I stopped taking it, the hairloss slowed down but didn't really stop altogether. Just my experience, but I wouldn't take any chances if I were you. Maybe try Ovcon-35 instead? It's supposed to be hair friendly.

Re: Estrostep and hair loss?

I just got off of Estrostep after 2 1/2 years. While on that pill my hair shedded alot. It doesn't fall out in clumps to make you bald, but after brushing it I would see a ton of hair, and if I combed it a few minutes later more shedding would still occur.

I'm happy I'm off that pill now due to all other bad side effects it caused - the only negative thing of not being on the pill for me is my periods aren't on a strict schedule anymore & cramps are back!!
