Oh boy, can I relate and relate and relate. The hairloss has been my most upsetting menopausal symptoms relating to physical appearance. Didn't gain weight, don't have wrinkles, don't even have gray hair, but I just have so LITTLE hair! It makes me look like a little old lady now. I look at pictures from just even 2 years ago and I had so much more hair. I also have thyroid disease, and the sad part of that is one of the side effects of the medication is....hairloss! Now that just doesn't seem fair. One of the symptoms of hypothyroid is hairloss, then you take meds to fix it, and the meds cause hairloss!!?! Anyhow, I'm so sorry I don't have answers for you, just wanted you to know I can relate.
I've read other hairloss forums and it just seems that some people have hairloss during this peri time, and others just don't. Not sure why some and not others, maybe genetics, but that seems to be the story. Everyone tries different things, but I have to say I haven't read any success stories anywhere.
I've been using a biotin shampoo and faithfully taking my fish oil - both help with the texture of the hair. Although I have so little hair, I can say that what I do have is in the best condition it's ever been!
Take care,
Nornie
