Hair Loss in clumps?

I've always heard about hair loss in anorexia, and read others' experiences with their hair falling out in clumps in the shower or while brushing, etc..

What do you consider a "clump"? I've been suffering for 3 years and have never had a hair issue (it's dulled and lacks life but that's about it lol). Only recently, about a month or two ago I began noticing random strands here and there. Like my hair will be up in a ponytail and somehow a strand or 2 winds up in my food and I have no clue how it got there. (and I know it's mine cuz I'm the one that cooks lol)

Does anyone else just have random strands rather than the "clumps"?

Re: Hair Loss in clumps?

I know I did not take being anemic serious for many years. Today it has come back to haunt me. I lost a lot of hair due to oxygen not being carried to my hair folicals through my cellular system. Thanfully have resolved that problem with daily iron along with other supplements.

But initially I had to purchase Rogaine for women to get it started off! Not fun and I do not believe in wigs and weaves. I loose mine it's ball and hats all the way!

I SWORE I was anemic because of how cold I was all the time. I had like every symptom of it. But when I had my blood test it came back negative. I was shocked... and upset that I wasn't. Cuz now my "legitimate" excuse to being cold in the summer was a lie! lol

LOL...very funny. Seriously though, I am anemic. I had two blood transfusions for my troubles. Being cold is a problem for me too. I can handle and love being in hot regions.
