Bald patch on my head

Hello im wriitng this for my sister, She sent me a photo of her hair earlier and you can cleary see a massive bald patch on the back of her head

She has been to the doctor, who said it is probably down to stress, although this was a few weeks ago and the patch has got bigger since then.

Any idea what it is happening? She is very worried.

Re: Bald patch on my head

I would see another doctor for another opinion.
Is she going through alot of stress?
I went through alot of stress and got one of those bald patches.
Your hair becomes very patchy when you go through stress.
If she's not going through stress, it could be something else.
I'v heard having a bad thyroid can cause hair loss.
There is a product called toppik. Its a spray you spray on your hair and it will cover the bald spots. When you wash your hair it will then come off your hair.
I would say use it once a day. Use it 10 minutes after you wash your hair.
It only costs lke 21 dollars. Do a search of Toppik.
It does a good job of covering the bald spots.
Its not a permanent solution, but its a good temporary solution.

Re: Bald patch on my head

Hi there...if its circular i know someone who developed them on their head and went to a dermatologist and is was alopecia aretea(sp?) and they gave them a prescrition cortisol type of cream to apply and went in for cortisol type shots once or twice a month aswell. Main cause according to the doctor was stress. I would also agree that she gets a second opinion before it gets worse.

thanx
