| Male facial hair and pigment loss
Hi all, I am new to this site and have joined as I have a question to ask as I am worried about my fiancé. About 18 months ago a small patch of hair disappeared on his face. At the time we thought it was due to a tooth infection as it was in the same place on his face. The infection had since cleared up, however, the patch has got bigger and he now has a bald patch that covers most of his right side of his face, about 2 inches round. He isn't a clean shave kind of guy so the patch is really noticable. There are some hairs in there but they are soft and have lost all pigment. This patch is still growing and he now has one on the other side of his face which is growing rapidly. The doctor gave him steroid cream which did nothing. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this and if it is fixable?
