Hairloss due to physical stress to the body, anyone had this?
Hi, I'm a 28 y.o. female. In April of 2011 I decided that I wanted I little more muscles, so I bought a treadmill and started running on a daily basis . I should mention that I'm not really a sporty type, don't do regular work outs and never ran before in my life for more that 10-15 minutes. I guess I should've taken it slow and easy, but I didn't, I also decided to stick to a high protein diet to help the muscle tone.
about two month later I started to notice my hair was falling out. At first I couldn't believe it, but when 1/3 of my hair was gone it was hard to deny It wasn't a normal hair loss. went to doctors, obgyn, endocrinologist and dermatologist. Did some tests and ultrasounds, but couldn't find anything. So they just told me that it was physical stress and that the hair loss would stop within 6 month and that it should all grow slowly back. The Dermatologist recommended Rogaine for men once a day and Biotin supplement to help the hair grow faster. I didn't use Rogaine much, because it makes my scalp very red and itchy.
I was loosing my hair for about 8 month. It is slowly growing back, but I'm not sure I will get all of my hair back. On the front of my head can still see the scalp even though it was like 3 month since the hair started growing back a little.
Did anyone ever face this kind of hair loss? if yes does hair really grow all back?
Thanks
