Unhappy my father is going bald

My dad is beginning to bald in the back/middle of his head if you stand behind him you would be able to notice the decrease in hair compared to the rest of his head. He has tried taking vitamins, using shampoos (he's currently using "caprice naturals" from palmolive, supplements from GNC like super biotin 6000 and other hair vitamins purchased at GNC. It makes my father really sad that he Seems to be losing his hair he is only 42 is a very healthy man for his age goes to the gym every day still works. I also wondered my dad takes pre-workouts ever since he was maybe in his 30's could these supplements from gnc contribute to his hair loss? Or could styling Gel contribute to this too? I know for a fact the biggest cause of his hair loss is stress. Can anyone help me with a product that does actually work for hair growth and producing new hair cells in the scalp. Thank you
