Ok I am 21 and my dad is bald... I do not want to be bald cause I have the most beautiful hair

It is not for sure that I will lose hair but its in my genes... and I do notice a receding hair line, although its very minimal and at the front of my head I see hair that is lighter in color and is very brittle and dry, some I barely tug and they come out. I know some hair loss is normal but I don't want it to increase.

I just wanted to know what kinda things can be done daily to slow the process down? besides going to the doctor.

things like not using gels or hairsprays? does that help? or not wearing headwear?

Is there a good shampoo for potential hair loss victims?

any advice is appreciated while I still have my hair

I saw a guy who was 24 and his hair receding so much, It made me really think.

What factors determine whether I am a candidate for male pattern baldness?

Pls anyone........... I wanna keep my hair and I figure now is a good time to start seeing i'm only 21.

Go to a derm and get on propecia and just stick with that for awhile. DO Not buy all the crap you see on the internet. As far as shampoo, go buy some nizoral.
If you have male pattern baldness the only thing making you lose your hair is your hormones. Wearing hats, using gels, hairsprays and everything else is not going to make you lose your hair. You might consider minoxidil 5% later on for some regrowth but I wouldnt do that until you see how you respond to propecia.
