Dear Kerry-
Head Lice are no fun- my daughter got them once from school- they are awful to get rid of.
First, you must shampoo with the Rid / Nix and then make sure that all of the "nits" are out of your hair- they make a special comb for this.
Second- Wash everything in your house in the warmest water possible- if it can't be washed, it needs to be put into a sealed plastic bag for 2 weeks- 2 weeks is the incubation period for the eggs. If something can not be washed or sealed- put it in the dryer on the warmest setting for 30 minutes.
Third- Vaccuum EVERYTHING and throw away the vaccuum bag
Now- in exactly 2 weeks, you must repeat all of these steps again, to make sure that you get anything that might have "hatched".
In my case- I actually stripped everything from the beds, lifted the mattresses off the frames and "bug bombed" my house in order to get rid of them completely. For some reason, the only one to actually get them in her hair was my daughter- but like you- they kept coming back. It was not until I bombed the house that we got rid of them for good.
