I too was in your situation that is until last week when i went for a trim and ended up getting a messed up haircut. now i had to go somewhere else and get 6 inches cut off just to match with the layers the lady put in my hair without my permission. She was "just trying to add body" and "it was supposed to blend" etc. she apologized and didn't charge me but i was in a tithy all week over it. now its "short" for me, and all layery and fluffy instead of long silky and marsha brady like. My advice is, KNow exactly what you want to do when you go in there and don't agree to anything your unsure about. some people i guess see long hair and the hand with the scissors in it starts twitching. . . just . . can't . . . help . . . self. . .cut . . . off . . . hair. . .
as you can see i am still traumatized. oh well, after talking to a woman who is loosing all her hair to chemo this week, it put it all in perspective. Good luck and jsut type in "long hair styles" or similar in search engine and it will come up with some sites.
