Spiky Hair - Hair Problems Message Board

Hi, im from the UK im male (quite obvious by the name) and im 16. Now i need a new hairstyle and ive known this for ages...i want it spiky not stupidly spiky like 500 feet into the air spikes, but a bit like ricky martin....a picture supplied [URL=http://www.seol.com.br/alternativa/walpaper/ricky_martin.jpg]Ricky Martin[/URL] except for the hair colour..i want to keep my natural colour (color). I can do this and get most of my hair the way i want it....the one problem i have is my fringe (bangs as its known in the US.) Its curly...i try and put that up in that style and it forms a little roll.....as i said i live in the UK are there anyways in which i can get rid of these curls without spending ridiculous money and have it in the ricky martin style....?? I;ve have a few suggestions..

1) Train It - if you keep putting your hair up and up it should eventually become straight??

2) grow your hair longer and the weight will make it straight...

are there any more things i can do or will 1 of the above work?

I spike my 5 yr old son's hair by using gels & lightly blow drying it upwards. Then I spray tons of hairspray on it to keep the hold. Have you tried the blow dryer method yet? Good Luck.

i know a good product for spiking your hair--it's a "glue" called ice and they carry it at most salons. it comes in all the colors of the rainbow, but it also comes in clear. i used it for 2 years and it was the strongest-holding product i found. i rarely had to use hairspray. i don't know if they carry it in the uk, but since it's all over the place in the us, it should be very easy to order online.

i also had short spiky hair with bangs. (i'm female btw.) i had the same problem with my bangs, they always curled to one side...what i did was use mousse on my bangs (without blow-drying it), comb it through until the mousse dried, and then sprayed my bangs with hairspray to keep them straight.

You can try a flat iron (Straightning iron) That should help straighten it.
