I went to my doc today and told him about my hairloss. I am a 22 yr old male and I use to have thick thick hair. I'm talkin like, the hairstylist use to have to use the thinning shears to cut my hair. I started college 3.5 years ago and right after my freshman year, i noticed my hair thinning. It wasn't bad and didn't really thing anything of it....I just thought i was imagining it cause for the whole year i had my head shaved and hadnt seen my hair grown out in a while. Well, progressively over the past 2 years i noticed more and more of my scalp showing and the corners of my forhead receading a bit...then i noticed my crown getting thin as well. So basically the top of my head straight back from my forhead.
Well, I've been really bummed about about it for a long time and a little depressed. and in the past 6 months I've had people start mentioiing it to me...which really ****ed me off considering it happened a few times in front of a large group of people....OK, so enough sob story..but i got another comment last week so i finally made an appointment with my doc. I told him about my problem and he told me he thought it was pattern baldness, but he took a blood sample anyways to test the thyroid and he perscribed Propecia to me...I hope this is the miracle drug. I'm also thinking about investing in Nioxin as well. So maybe with the two combined I'll have it back in no time.
The only thing I'm wondering about is the propecia going to increase the growth rate of the hair on the rest of my body..ie..arms, face...etc.... Anybody have any opinions on this matter or you wanna tell your hair loss story (it feels good to vent about this injustice)....just pipe in. everybody take it easy and thanks for your time.
