Not your typical hair problem- eyelash loss - Hair Problems Message Board

In the past two years I have had significant eyelash loss. My eyelashes used to be full and long and everyone used to ask if they were fake. Now, I have patches missing. It seems like I lose my eyelashes in phases. They will look fine and they'll grow back and then it seems like all of a sudden they'll fall out again. I don't know if it is stress related or what. I take a vitamin for hair strengthening and growth. Any suggestions???

How are you washing your eye makeup off?

I know if I don't use a eye makeup remover instead of soap, it will literally rip my eyelashes out, and never scrub with a washcloth cause I have noticed this willl also pull them out.

I actually don't wear a lot of makeup to avoid applying pressure to my eyelashes. When I do wear makeup I use a cotton ball and Clinique's gentle eye makeup remover.

look up Blepharitis

it causes loss of eye lashes

This probably isn't what you have, since you said you don't wear a lot of makeup, but I thought I would throw it out there anyway. My friend in high school used a mascara that she was allergic to, and all of her eyelashes fell out. So, that's a potential cause.
