Has anyone ever dealt with this? I have had to misfortune of developing the condition due to extreme stress. My problem is that i have become obsessed with my hair and i get panic attacks at night over it. I am even more deathly afraid this is making the condition worse. If I could only relax it will get better , but im just so scared because im obsessed with my looks.
Has anyone dealt with this?
Hi, I completely understand what you're going through. I'm having the same problem, brought on by over eight hours of anesthesia, although I also get really stressed and panic attacks which surely doesn't help! The good thing is the hair loss should subside by around six months, mine's been going on for about three - I hope it ends soon! I recently started using Nioxin hair products. Are you using anything special? I guess the best we can do is try and stay healthy and relax.

Im not using any special products...I do take "Hair Nails and Skin Formula" vitamins that I bought at GNC. they have essential vitamins for hair. BUt the key is to learn how to relax and just be patient. Its hard and I know because I put so much pressure on myself to relax that it has the adverse effect and gets me even more stressed out. Its hard because its scary, but you just have to teach yourself to be calm again..my brains so used to being scared and anxiety ridden that its become my normal state and i have to teach it to go back to the way it used to be. Just realize that it will pass and be patient!!! It takes time and i am willing to wait
Hi all,
I am 22yrs/F, was under general anasthesia for a few hours for surgery about a yr. ago. Shortly after, i started losing a lot more hair than usual. lasted for maybe 4 mo. But i remember feeling very pannicy, but don't worry you guys probably have a lot of hair and what's falling out seems like a lot more than what will make a difference. i already have a preexisting alopecia problem, but when the telogen eff. stopped, no one could tell the difference. So, just relax and don't touch your head too often. It will stop.
