Single Strands of thick black hair - Hair Problems Message Board

I hope some one can help!

I am female and my hair type is brown and very straight, the strands are quite thin. But over the last few years I have been developing short curly thick (Twice the thickness of my normal hair) black hairs on my head, the only way I can describe them looking like is pubic hair! I have tried everything to stop them showing, even using straighteners but nothing works. They still pop out, they really show against the normal colour of my hair.

I dont straighten or blow dry my hair often. It started when I was about 15 years old and it has just got worse as the years have gone by. I dont understand it really, I have never treated my hair badly and I always try and use the right shampoo, but nothing seems to help

I really need help, is there anything I can do to stop them?

Hi,

Nope, nothing you can do to change it. It's all preprogrammed in your genes. As a matter of fact, I have them also. When I leave my hair to dry for a short time on its own before blowdrying, those hairs stand out all over my head. My natural hair isn't straight or fine, so they do blend in.

colouring the hair with a 20 volume peroxide will change the texture a bit (more managable), as well as the colour....but they will still stand out I'm sure.
