Young and bald! - Hair Problems Message Board

20 year old male here, practically bald on top now. I started losing my hair when I was 15. I know that it is hereditary, but I hate IT!! :P I have seen a few people out there with the same problem, but not many. I am thinking of getting hair transplants. Anyone in a similar situation? Or can anyone post their experiences with hair treatments, implants, etc. please? It's always nice to know that your not the only one out there.

I started losing my hair when I was about 23 (I'm almost 37). Have you thought about just shaving it all off? I shave my head & it works very well for me...

Hi there RJEM,
I know I am female but I just wanted to let you know that I kind of understand. I agree with Mickey in the shaving off thing. My boyfriend also started loosing his hair at an early age (around 20 I think) and well he decided one day to just shave it all off and I wouldn't want him any other way but bald....and let me tell you from a female standpoint.....I love shaved heads.....I don't know if this helps but I hope it does!!

I agree you should try the shaved-head thing. It looks better than male pattern balding (I know that's a very shallow thing for me to say, but it's the automatic thought that goes through my head when a guy I know who's losing his hair shows up completely shaved.) If you don't like it, at least you tried it, it won't take THAT long for your hair to grow back, and who cares what people like me think, right?
