If you are going to color your hair more than a few shades darker, you really need to see a professional.
WHY? If you are going from blonde (which is a color that does not have a lot of pigment or "natural color" in it) to a darker shade, like medium brown you will need to first "fill" in the missing pigments (or colors). You stylist will probably put an orange base in your hair (DON'T worry

, I know, it sounds bad...

) and then apply the darker color. If you neglect this important step, your hair will be a lovely shade of green or grey...
