MAYONAISE - I know.. you're probably thinking "yeah yeah, I've heard that around, and it probably doesn't even work".. thats exactly what I said..
I have natural light brown hair and decided to go BLONDE.. this was about 3 years ago.. after a year of being blonde.. I hated it, so I went back to a medium brown. My hair was so damaged from the bleaching.. I tried everything.. shampoo's, conditioners.. then one day I was fed up and was like.. "what the heck.. I have mayonaise here in the fridge, lets try it". My goodness.. what a difference.
Trick is to go in the shower, with super warm water.. this will open the hair shaft and make it able to bond tightly with whatever comes into contact with it. Have the mayo in the bathroom.. I'd scoop it into a bowl (maybe a half a cup (+) of it) before I get into the shower. Then get out of the shower and apply the mayonaise to the warm damp hair (you may have to towel the excess water off before). Work it through with fingers.. and then try to comb it through your hair.. so it doesn't get tangled. Next, put your hair up in a plastic shower cap and go do the dishes.. watch the start of a good show.. something that might take 10-15 minutes. Then simply go back into the shower and with warm water rinse it out.
I really hope it works for you. I do it probably once every two weeks now.. I consider it my little spa treatment at home
