Straighter + Hair = Really Bad ? - Hair Problems Message Board

So a couple months back i bought a HAI flat iron from the mall.
Since my first use of it it didn't really impress me that much.
I figured that it was because I'd keep it at a rather low temperature, because I was afraid of ruining my hair. (I'm an asian male) I thought that is why it didn't work that well, because it wasn't hot enough.
Well my hair is really damaged now =\
Or at least it seems so...

Well I have two things:

1) I just recently noticed that my HAI flat iron says "hair art and imformation" does that mean that I got scammed?

2) Now that my hair is in such bad shape, what can I do to fix that? My hair is relatively short as it is, and I don't really want to cut it all off... Anything cheap but effective and easy to do to help with its quality?

i know nothing about the HAI iron. a lot of people like CHI and Sedu irons, but i have a cheap ceramic Revlon iron that works just as well. as long as the iron is ceramic and you use a heat protection spray, your hair should be ok. also, never put a hot iron on wet or damp hair. make sure your hair is always completely dry.

for now, maybe just try doing deep conditioning treatments and using a smoothing cream or serum until your hair gets long enough to cut the damage off.

what kind of deep conditioning treatments would you think would be most beneficial?

i dont know all too much about products =/

i dont know how much you're willing to spend, but i'm on a tight budget so i can only afford drugstore products. my two favorite deep conditioners are Aussie 3 minute miracle deeeep (not the original!) and Neutrogena triple moisture deep conditioner (the one in the tub). i rotate between those two.

if you're looking for something more expensive, you could just stop by a salon and ask them what they might recommend.
