I have short hair but it lays flat! I know that part of my problem is using heavy conditioners, however, my hair needs conditioning. I style, blow dry, curling iron etc and within a few hours it just lays down. My hair is already cut in layers to help with volume. Am I doomed?

i use to have flat hair. Not anymore! I changed my diet to the raw food diet and my asian hair started to curl.

Have you tried any volumnizers that are available? I've had some success with them.

How about using a lighter conditioner? I know I cannot use heavy ones and what I do use must be rinsed out very well or my hair gets too soft and will go flat. I'd also try a volumizer before setting or blow drying. My derm suggested using Progaine shampoo as that helps with volumizing. Wouldn't hurt to try some different products and see if you can find one that works better for you.

Try Marc Anthony thickening shampoo and conditioner. It is really good. Thickens my hair and keeps the frizz to a minimum. I use just a dab of conditioner on the ends then right before rinsing I run it through the rest of my hair. You can also mix it with water 1/4 conditioner 3/4 water, it works just as well.
