i've heard that strong detergents in shampoos can irritate and damage hair.
i guess it's better not to wash my hair too often,
but how often should i shampoo my hair?
i think it's twice a week or so. what do u think?

I have thick, curly hair, so I shampoo every day. Pantene has a wax in it that coats your hair and makes it appera more smooth and silky. It will build up quickly. Your hair is not living, so you cannot change it's state of "health" for the better. All you can do is do more damage, or prevent more damage. I find the cleaner my hair is, the better it looks.
If you color or perm your hair, you would not want to use Pantene as your chemicals will not penetrate your hair as effectively if it has all the junk to penetrate through first.
My daughter had dry hair and the dermatologist told her to shampoo her hair every day. Daily shampooing stimulated the oil glands.
Use a mild shampoo and a good conditioner, one that does not weight down the hair. Loreal Feria conditioner is good (use small amount each time). This conditioner is available at Sally's Beauty Supply. I heard recently that Loreal professional products will now be sold by other stores, the something or other had expired and Sally's will no longer be the exclusive store to carry it. Infusion 23 shampoo is a good moisturizing one.
