painful scalp near crown - Hair Problems Message Board

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has felt pain or sensativity on their scalp.

I get an almost burning sensation near the crown of my head near the back.
Sometimes it gives me bad headaches
I notice its worse if I go a day without washing my hair, so I was it everyday
Sometimes i feel as if i can feel each hair move & it feels painfull
It doesn't happen everyday
My hair is fine & thin
I told my doctor about it & he ordered labs & thyroid & everything was fine.

Not sure if I should see a dermatolist thats specializes in hair/scalp....i hope its not a bad sign

i have that too!!! Totally worsens after taking a few body showers a few days in a row.

People think im crazy when i tell them my hair hurts.

Could you keep me updated on whats going on with you if you find out anything new? I never even thought to mention this to a dr.

I will TOTALLY let you know if i find anything out...your not crazy....I get horrible headaches...its awful

I think I will be calling my dr soon to make appt to get a referral....its happening more often....i almost wonder sometimes if my Hot showers are adding to it??

Do you style your hair in any particular way, put it up in a pony tail perhaps, blow dry it straight regularly? The only thing i can think of is if your hair was being pulled or held back tightly off your face etc.

The only other thing is if it's a pins/needles type of sensation then it could be something to do with your blood circulation in that particular area. Maybe try getting someone to give a light scalp massage using almond oil.

ahhh i get this! i was wondering why i get it so much the other day...it's worse when i tie my hair back... so im guessing its just the pulling of the hair.
