HELP! my hair is BLACK and I am planning to strip it. - Hair Problems Message Board

okay, my hair used to be a very light brown and then I started dying it to a darker brown and i loved it! well then one day I got this crazy idea to dye it black....BIG MISTAKE. now I just want to go back to a light brown color. so i called my local beauty supply store and told them my problem. they recommended me to Malibu 2000 to strip it and they said to leave it on for 8 hours!!! ( i really dont have that much time) and then they also helped me match a hair dye close to my natural color. and they said once i stip it to dye it with this new color. I'm afraid this isnt going to work. any suggestions? someone please help...

Well my hair is dyed black and to get it to take any lighter colour I have to bleach it...which is just horrible really, I have to go over it at least twice with the bleach which is a big no no, and big chunks of my hair started coming out after doing that, there should be a quicker way than you're being offered at the salon and also a safer way! I'd say just call around hairdressers and see what the rest say.
