I had major surgery last Nov. (2006) or because I changed my diet in March (2007)? I'm following a nationally recognized diet plan.

I'm 50 yrs old and was wondering if I should be concerned about it? It's more then normal for me.

Hair loss could be from Medications or dieting. I can relate my bald spots to major surgeries and diets,too. Stress can cause hairloss in women. I am 48 yrs old and solved my problem with a nutritionist and an endocrine doctor. I have regained all my hair and have not had a "spell" (Knock wood) for 7 yrs.

Hair loss can also be caused by menopause (in women), usually due to low estrogen count. Occasionally, thyroid problems can result in hair loss as well. Try and get some blood work done - thyroid panel and hormone panel.
