allergy to hair color

I had a long surgery 2 yrs ago. I colored my hair 3 wks later and my head was like on fire. I could hardly comb it. I then got floaters in my eyes and cheek got thick. I have used color for years and never had a problem. I am now gray. Any way to test to see what the actual cause could be? thank you Even tho I get compliments, I would like to be a gentle blonde again.

Re: allergy to hair color

This may seem like a dumb question to you, but sometimes we make silly mistakes. You didn't happen to just wash your hair a few hours before did you? One time, I completely forgot and washed my hair in the morning and dyed my hair later on that evening, before my scalp had a chance to build up any oils, and OUCHY!!! My whole head was burning and afterward, it was full of scabs . .. I will never make that mistake again!!
