should i get a protein treatment?
i have really thick really wavy really long hair that is also dry i was told i should have a protein treatment to save my locks... but i have heard that can also be bad so what do i do?

I also have very thick wavy hair. My stylist gives me a protein treatment, puts on a cavier moose and then straightens my hair with a ceramic flat iron. Now I only get the protein treatment when she uses the flat irons because it can damage the hair. The protein treatment strengthens it.

Protein treatments are for temporarily strengthening the hair. If your hair is dry it need moisture and oil. Don't shampoo too often. Shampoo strips the hair of the oil that protects it and keeps it from drying out. Blow drying and using irons to curl or straighten the hair dry it out. Use these tools at a minimum.
