You have built up color on the ends. When you wash your hair rub dandruff shampoo on the ends only. This will remove the color. Just watch where you put it--it will remove the ash tone all over if you are not careful.

I have never heard of this in my life! I would go to a hair dresser and ask them their opinion on what to do.

If your ends are frail or dry the ash color will turn them gray. I have had that happen before. Unless your hair is very reddish, you should stay away from ash. You can use a toner in your hair that has golden tones and that will fix it. OR you can buy shimmer lights shampoo at Sally Beauty supply in the red/gold color (NOT THE BLUE/VIOLET ONE!!!) and use it, leaving it on for a minute before you rinse it out. Good luck!
