short hair on the scalp...will they grow? - Hair Problems Message Board

Hello,
I've been lossing my hair for the last three years. I'm certain it is due to stress and depression. But i want to know, i have these short hair on my scalp for the last 3 years. They're short, not a few millimeters long, and thin. They've been like this for the last three years. I don't believe i am receding. My hairline has always been like this. I know i need to go to a doctor and have all the necessary tests done. I will do that later when i have insurance. But right now, i'd like to know if these short hairs will grow longer and thicker.

I believe its what they call baby hair? My hairdresser says they only grow a certain length so he trimmed mine close to my scalp only for it to grow normally after a few months...
