My wife has recently started plucking hairs from my ears. It is something we just started as i am almos 60 and it seems that they are growing faster. The lady who cuts my hair recently told me that plucking is dangerous. Is it?
There is some risk of danger. You could get an ingrown hair or possibly an infection. Your wife should be very careful to pull only one hair at a time. She needs to get a good grip on it and pull firmly straight out so that the hair does not break off. You might want to leave the smaller fine hairs at the opening of the ear canal. They help to keep debris out of the ear.
I trim my ear hairs instead of plucking them. I have beard trimmer that came with a nose hair attachment. It's battery operated and I got the whole set at Wal-Mart for about eleven dollars.
Electrolysis is fantastic for getting rid of these hairs, permanently! Because this area of the body has a good supply of hormone enriched blood circulating, forcibly removing these hairs does stimulate them to multiply and become coarser.
If permanent removal is not an option, clipping is safer than tweezing.
