Leg hair stopped growing.

Would anyone know what it means when the hair on a women's legs stops growing. I am 68 years old, good health and haven't had to shave my legs in 4 or 5 months. Previously I shaved every couple of weeks at least.

What might cause this and it possibly related to any medical conditions?

Thank you,

Re: Leg hair stopped growing.

I've heard it can have something to do with circulation

Re: Leg hair stopped growing.

Have you had your thyroid levels checked lately? I'm 41 and I've lost nearly all of the hair on my arms and legs due to hypothyroidism. My mom and grandmother experienced the same.

Re: Leg hair stopped growing.

My hair on my legs stopped growing and I was also losing excessive amounts of hair from my head when my thyroid medication dosage was too low.

Re: Leg hair stopped growing.

It can often be a sign or poor circulation or diabetes, but at age 68, it's more likely due to hormones and the natural aging process. If you haven't yet, you will see the gradual loss of other body hair (pubic, arms, underarms) and an increase in facial hair.
