This is so strange...i lost some of my hair and then it grow back again!

HI am male 28 ,slim build and a smoker...what happened to my hair is really weird ...years ago i have to moved flat ,so i moved to a small city and stayed in a small room...i start to stress out because i did not like the place ...and i stopped doing exercises instead i have got a game counsel and spent most of my time playing games,i start to gain weight,my skin colour start to get darker,i lost my appetite for sex, and my hair start to become thine and hard , my hair use to be thick and curley,at that point i though am losing hair because am getting older even though i was like 27 at that time,so i spent 2 years the small city ,and i start to get depressed so i decided to move back to the big city where i use to live ,once i have moved there i got my self a big room ,sold my game counsel and start exercising ,i start to lose some weight and then i start to feel more happier and my hair start to grow as it use to be before and the bold area in my head start to get covered with my new curly hair...can some explain to me the reasons behind my hair acting funny?is it because i gained weight?or because i was stressing?thank you.
