hair split ends

Hi,

I was just wondering if other people have split ends in their hair and if so if they notice if it comes from dry weather, hair bleaching or coloring, medications, etc.? I haven't had split ends for awhile and recently noticed them after I bleached and colored my hair, and the weather here is dry (is all winter), plus I take meds but nothing really new.

Well, any help or insight is greatly appreciated.

Re: hair split ends

Yes, you can get split ends from dry air, coloring and bleaching. I also believe one can get sick from putting those chemicals on the head. Also hair dryers, curlers and hot rollers damage the hair.

Re: hair split ends

<edit>Bleaching can damage the hair with one application, double processing it by putting a color over it can further damage the hair. You could try doing weekly oil or conditioning treatments for a month and if it doesn't work you should cut off an inch every month or every other months until it is in the condition you want. then continue getting a hair cut every 3 months (sometimes less if damage is constant).

Re: hair split ends

Thanks for the helpful replies.

Does anyone know if chlorine from swimming pools causes split ends? I Know chlorine is bad for the hair.
