Greasy Hair for no reason

Hi All,

I stumbled across this site and really needed some advice.

My hair is really fine - I have been washing my hair every day since I was a child (Now 22). I dyed my hair 3 months ago and lately I notice my hair has been getting really greasy.

Example 1: I use to wash my hair twice a day - now I do it once. After washing my hair I note that once it's dry - I have an area of my head which is really really greasy!

I do straighten my hair but I always have used heat protection spray so never had an issue till recently.

I did start to lose a lot of hair recently but I was going through a very tough time in my personal life however I was advised by a friend to go slightly shorter - I then cut my hair which is fine but it's still very greasy.

It really is knocking my confidence and I go out and look at people's hair and it actually makes me quite upset.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong but a couple of things people mentioned was hair dye, or my shampoo is not right because I have dyed my hair or the weather changing. What can I do to stop this greasy hair??

Thanks for any support

Re: Greasy Hair for no reason

Try shampooing your hair with Prell shampoo (clarifying), rinse good, wet head with Listerine mouthwash and leave on 3 minutes, rinse, use a light conditioner. The Listerine will help close hair follicles where oil (sebrum) is pouring out.

After recent surgery i had a severe problem with waxy/oily hair and read on the internet about Listerine. Gave it a try and it worked. May need to use several times.

If you use a clarifying shampoo very often your hair will end up like straw.
