Thumbs up Has anyone heard drinking coke rids migraines?

Has any one heard of this?
It can only be coke and it has to be guzzled.
A teacher of my daughters recommended something out of the ordinary that works for her migrianes but unfortunatly gives her a big stomachache. Is to guzzle
coke- a- cola (only coke -a -cola works) It's the caffine I guess. It worked time and time again for another girl at school and it worked for my daughter. Of course except for the big stomacheache. I'm sure not everyone gets a stomache ache. Her tummy has always been sensitive.

Never heard of the guzzeled part before. Pepsi works for me. I always take it w/my meds. Even though now Pepsie taste like carbonated water because of Topamax (side effect).

caffine can really help with headaches, and it can also help pain killers work faster.

I have found that the caffeine makes pain medication work faster, but caffeine is one of the causes of my migraines. I did a diet similiar to Atkins - high protein, very low carbs, no dairy, no caffeine and no sugar & after about 2 weeks, I had no migraines for the duration of the diet. The nitrates in dark wines and cheese, and chocolate really aggravate my migraines.

Now, if I could jsut go back on my diet, I would bee a lot better.....

Me too! So I had to give up Three Mousekateers my favorite candy bars.

I am not a coffee drinker, so caffeine does not trigger my migraines like they do most migriane sufferers. I only drink Pepsi w/my meds. The only other soda I drink is Canada Dry caffeine free ginger ale.

Caffiene I heard can help for some but induce for others, so like a lot of things, it's trial and error. If it works, don't stop, it won't hurt to try.
