Over a year ago I had got some kind of flu like illness that left me fatiged, dizzy/spaced and lots of weird sensations in upper body. I often get these terrible headaches in the back of my head toward my neck and in my temples. Does anyone know what kind of headaches I am dealing with here. I also get a sore jaw and frequently wake clinching my teeth.
I've had maigraines since I was a child, but about six years ago after the birth of my daughter I started getting these terrible headaches back to back that left me feeling disoriented, dizzy and as if my brain were actually moving inside my skull. I had trouble speaking and processing thought into coherent speech. I ended up going to see a neurologist and being tested for seizures, etc. The end diagnosis was Basilur Maigraines. A mind numbing maigraine that is located basically in the back of your head. I feel like there is someone gripping me by the neck with crushing fingers, forcing the pain upward and around my head. Unfortunately I have not found a medication that works for me. Basilur maigraines happen to be the Only maigraine type that Imitrex does not work for and I usually just end up having to curl up in bed and try to sleep mine off for however long it takes. (An average of 12-18 hours)
Heather, how often do you get the migraine?
Bothrops, have you researched the possibility of TMJ?
Yes I have. I have researched a lot When I tell my docs what I think, well you all know how that goes. I match TMJ pretty close but it seems like all that started after the onset. It is kinda like the chicken and egg deal. I also match chrnic fatigue, lyme and post viral.
Well, usually during a virus infection, we tend to drink alot less water, it may be that you were dehydrated, those are also some symptoms of it, but it is possible that it is a migrane..... get it checked if you feel that it could be bad.
