It's not exactly a pain, because it doesn't hurt, it's more just like a constant pressure, as if my head is being squeezed. It really affects me from the base of my neck, to the top [back] of my head. My ears feel like they're about to burst out of my head as well and there is a ringing in my ears that I didn't have before. It also seems to affect my upper jaw.
It never goes away, only when I sleep at night. It really depends on how I'm laying down, and in the morning it's not there until about an hour or so later after I'm already up.
I was wondering if anyone had these same symptoms or knows about them. It would be really appreciated if I had some information on it before I went to the doctor. [I'm one of those scaredy-cats, haha. Too afraid to go to the doctor.]

I have had the same thing. I have had this now for 3 1/2 months, constantly and daily.
I only had this untl about a month ago I started getting tingling and numbness in my body, a vibration feeling, weakness, fatigue and vertigo.
I went to the doctor and they thought it was allergies but they were wrong..
Took lots of allergy type medications and nothing worked.
Then I went to the doctor again after all the neurological things started to happen and I had tons of blood tests ran (thyroid, B12 def, CBC, ect.) as well as a CT scan (by this time I swore I had a tumor, ongoing stroke, or an aneurysm) all came back normal and so I am still left with the intense type pressure headache (although its not really too much "pain")
I am going to make an appointment with a neurologist to see if I can get to the bottom of this. Hope it makes you feel better you are not alone it did me reading your post.
P.S. Do you pop your ears all day long like me acting as if it gives you "relief" even though it really doesnt??
Omg, this is exactly what I'm experiencing...I had a CT scan and blood tests done months ago and was put on muscle relaxers and sinus medications but nothing worked. I feel good when I wake up but about an hour after I wake up the head pressure returns and I'm constantly popping my ears just like you said in hopes to relieve the pressure...it's so weird. I have been living with this for about 4 months and cannot stop analyzing every little symptom that I experience such as tingling and muscle twitching as well as slight vertigo and dizziness at times...I too have convinced myself several times it's a brain tumor. Report back if you guys find some relief!

Just checking in to see how you two are feeling....my headache is at one of its all time "highs" for the pressure... I am trying to ignore it telling myself that the vertigo I feel should be fun like I've had a few beers but unfortunately its not working...
Have you been to the doctor before for this problem?? Well good luck and be very very adament because all I've ever gotten was, sinuses, or stress, or depression, anxiety (well duh now I have that after feeling this way for 3 mos and NO ANSWERS or solutions), variant migraines (no meds for this have worked) and finally after my CT scan was "just fine and normal" and all of my bloodwork came back "normal", not B12 defecient, blood cell count normal, no thyroid problems, no hypertension, no diabetes ect ect ect...
I am waiting for my insurance to kick in because I am at about 6,000 in debt for this headache, tingling, numbness, drunkedness feeling now before I make my appt to see my first neurosurgeon.
Also do you ever experience like your nose is vibrating or feeling like its moving on its own??
Also have you experienced facial pressure.?? Last night I swore I wanted to just rip off my face because it felt as if it were going to combust..

I am in the same boat right now Shannon....after going to the ER three times with no insurance I am waiting to get insurance before returning to the doctors. All my tests have come back normal various times and my symptoms have usually been accredited to anxiety...what you describe is EXACTLY how I feel and what I've been going through. I too have felt the pressure on the bridge of the nose and the weird vibrating feeling. I also get weird internal bobbing of my head and body. When I lean my head back the pressure behind my ears and at the base of my skull increases alot and when leaning my head forward I also get much increased facial prsesure and pressure on the bridge of the nose. When laying down at night I have also noticed it hard for me to keep my mouth open, it seems like alot of pressure is on my face at night...right now I am just trying to ignore the symptoms and hope they will subside someday...good luck to both of you!
I also have had similar head pressure for 6 weeks now. It all started after going on high blood pressure medication which the GP swears is not causing it! My CT scan was normal and I'm seeing a neurologist next week. I am counting down the days!
I also get pressure climbing the stairs too fast or in a car, if there is a quick braking or accelerating, the front of my head feels so much pressure. I have had neck pain and I can relieve the symptoms a bit if I lean my head back on the headrest. Does anyone experience this?
I'm so stressed out and worried something terrible is happening, how can one not worry about this so much? My GP isn't very personable so I tense up just trying to speak with her!
Do any of you take Flonase nasal spray? I did but stopped because I thought it was aggrevating my tingling head and pressure but my GP said it was ok.
No I dont take Flonase... I find it hard to believe that the little things such as that can be causing all this crazy head stuff for so long. Today my head feels as if it is going to explode, and again I am just going about my day as usual since this has been on going for 3 mos now.
Its a bad day for the vertigo too. Hope is well with you and you get some answers soon, when and if you do please share
Hi all - I also have constant pain and pressure in my head, behind my eyes and ears. My ears always feel like they are "blocked" and I also try to pop them open but it really doesn't work. I have a dull pressure pain in my jaws as well. If you haven't already, you might want to go over and take a look at the TMJ board. The "TMJ" is your temporomandibular joint, which is in each side of your jaw. A lot of your symptoms "could" be due to a TMJ disorder. Just another avenue to look into.
I have had a million sinus scans and taken a million different sinus meds but they never work. The pain and pressure sure seems sinus related, but I guess there is no way that it can be. Also, I hate those doctors that say it is due to stress. Before I had any of these symptoms, I didn't have any stress at all. After I have had these symptoms for so long, now I have the stress! All my neurological tests and scans are also normal.
Good luck and keep me posted if anything does ever relieve the head pain and pressure. Does anyone else get the pain/pressure behind or around the eyes?
Hi Everyone, I hope everyones having a good day. I too have ear pressure and pain around the eyes etc, but mainly in the ears. I have never had a problem with vertigo all my life, didnt even think about it before, but for the past 7 months my balance has been worsening to the point I cant stand on my feet without getting giddi. My ENTspecialist sent me to a Neurologist and I did some tests and he determined I have Vestibular Neuronitis. Symptoms are imbalance, vertigo, dizziness and I have constant pain and pressure in my ears. I read in a previous response that someones doctor said it could be caused by stress. I think that has some merit or could be one factor of the cause as in these last 4 months my stress levels were high until I came to the point that I'm now on home vacation, not that I can work anyways. Being new to this, I've looked up the condition on the net and found that in most cases its not permanent. I also found some excercises you can do at home to help improve vertigo, heres the link :
I have had very similar symptoms for about 3 months. No vertigo. Just sinus pain behind my nose, mostly bilateral. I also feel blocked ears as well as constant headahes which are not helped by OTC meds. To date, I have has sinus x-rays which are normal, a head CT scan which was normal, and last Friday I had a sinus CT. I was referred to an ENT who noticed I had a significantly deviated septum. But of course, most people do.
I have been on Flonas for about a month and although I still have headaches and pain, they have really subsided in intensity. My thoughts are possibly a contact point headache where my septum in contacting a middle turbinate and thus causing the symptoms. There is not much info on this, its also called middle turbinate headache syndrome or Sulder's Nuerelgia. I'm kinda lost, cuz there is really nothing else it could be. Maybe the Flonase is making the contact less severe? I may be reaching, but I will bing it up with my ENT when I get the results of my Sinus CT.
omg i get the exact same thing too! i am one of those people who will suffer in silence for years rather than do the sensible thing and go to the doctors! i have convinced myself that it is a tumour or something equally bad! do any of you guys get cold shivers in your head? its hard to explain..and numbness in the head too? I get all kinds of weird things...its reassuring in a way to know someone else experiences it too but i wouldnt wish it on anyone, it has been a pain for a couple of years now. let me know if you get any diagnosis?!
