Headaches at base of skull in back on head - Headaches & Migraines Message Board

Anyone suffer from this type of headache? My son seems to be having this type and he also gets very sick and vomits with them.What kind are they?? He has seizures also...not from the headaches though...but has had seizures after having them because he can't keep his meds down.

i am really sorry to hear that your son has these type of headaches i am not sure what kind they are... but if he is vomiting they may be Migraines. these type of headaches can cause severe nausea, sensitivity to light, fatigue... etc etc... i hope that you soon find out what is causing this. Also take him to the doctor, if you havent already, just to make sure something more severe isnt going on. Its always better to be safe than sorry.

A lot of my migraines begin at the base of my neck. I don't vomit usually though. I have severe nausea most of the time and take Compazine for it. I have a friend who does vomit and can not take any pill form of pain relief so she use Imitrex by injection and/or suppositories of another kind of pain medication. I hope your son finds relief soon. I hope his doctor finds the answers you are looking for. Good luck.

I am calling his neuro tomorrow..he is taking Lamitcal 200mg daily and Tegertol 1000 mg daily. Ever since the Lamitcal was added(Nov) after dropping the Pheno his headaches have started back...he had Mirgrines years ago and not looks like they have returned. Or family doc said he could have an ulcer and gave him Nexrum samples to see if that would help....he got a headache while on that so we KNOW it is not an ulcer.
