Maxalt only for migraine? - Headaches & Migraines Message Board

My neurologist asked me what I took for headaches that are associated with Lyme Disease. I told him I take Maxalt for the bad ones and he told me that Maxalt only works on migraines. I do understand that migraine presentation can change in an individual, but I truly think that these are not migraines. They are very diffferent from the other migraines I get(traditional with nausea, floaters, sensitivity to light and sound). I just wanted to know if anyone else is being treated for other types of headaches with Maxalt and if it helps. Thanks.

I use Maxalt Melts for my migraines. I just copied the following from their website:

MAXALT is a medication of the triptan family used for the abortive treatment of migraine attacks in adults. MAXALT is a member of a class of drugs called selective 5-HT1B/1D receptor agonists.

Tell your doctor about your symptoms. Your doctor will decide if you have migraine. Use MAXALT only for a migraine attack. MAXALT should not be used to treat headaches that might be caused by other, more serious conditions.

He decided these were migraines but I am the one who is not so sure.
