Normal migraine symptom? - Headaches & Migraines Message Board

I am pretty sure my headaches are weather triggered. Even on days when I have no headache at all, the left side of my head still feels different from the right...sort of a heavy feeling. Is that normal with migraines? I still haven't convinced myself to go see a doctor as some days are really good so I think they are going away and then one day I have a really bad one.

Just curious if this feeling is normal.

There is really no "normal" migraine symptoms per say.

The way my Neurologist explained it me in laymens terms:
Migraines are like fingerprints & snowflakes - no two including the symptoms are alike. Including the people suffering from them.
Reason why it is so difficut to treat & to find the right and/or correct combination of medication to combat the darn thing!

One of my migraines are weather related.

Yeah, very true Mz. I just cant decide if I should go see the doctor or not. Right now my head feels pretty good, pretty normal. So I can function like I usually would and sometimes there is a pressure spot that drives me nuts.

My dentist thinks it could be teeth related, which I think I mentioned to you before. I need a few fillings and a cleaning which I haven't done for a few years since I HATE the dentist. As he explained it to me, the nerves in the gums relate to the nerves in the face, to the eyes, to the head. So irritated gums could be sending signals all the way up to my head. I get a filling done on Friday and a cleaning 2 weeks after. *sigh* I hate the waiting though. I just want it all to go away. ARGH!

What process did you go through to get your diagnosis? I really dont like doctors either and the thought of going to my regular doc, doing all his tests (he loves the x-rays and blood work) and then a referral to someone else just makes me batty.

3 General Practictioners & 2 Neurologist in a matter of 6 years.
The first Neurologist specialty was head injuries, multiple schlorisis, strokes, etc.

This was the period I went ballistic, fired all my physicians, did my own research on migraines by going to the library, doing online research, took my $$$$ & insurance elsewhere & retained new physicians.

The second Neurologist (my current) specialty is headaches/migraines.
