why have i got this headache - Headaches & Migraines Message Board

Hello
I am in my teens. I was just wondering if anyone could help me with this. But i have had this headache for 2 weeks now. I dont know why. I keep feeling so tired. even now i feel as if i could just drop of to sleep. Should a headache really last this long. and should i be feeling so tired.

I did have a fall from my horse on christmas eve and landed head first. When i had that fall i had a headache that lasted for over 2 weeks. and then it went away and now i seem to be having headaches again and they just wont go. Do you think the fall from my horse and landed head first could be a reason why these headaches are lasting for so long.

Hello Horseforever

I am an Osteopath and it would be my guess that your headaches do stem from the fall you had. It sounds like you have a form of whiplash which is when your neck is forcibly bent forwards or backwards. The muscles of your neck are probably spasmed and these attach to the back of your skull so giving you the headaches. My advice is to seek help from a local Chiropractor, Osteopath or Physiotherapist who can assess your neck muscles and joints to find out the cause.
