Question ultram for migraines

would anyone suggest ultram for migraines? I heard it was a non-narcotic painkiller..thought it might be better than vicodin or percocet.
any suggestions or advice would help.
thanks

Re: ultram for migraines

I am on ultram for fibromyalgia. It works pretty well for the pain but does not stop migraines for me. It is a synthetic narcotic so it has some of the side effects as narcotics without as much of a risk of addiction.

Re: ultram for migraines

I used Ultram and it did not work for me either. ALSO - please note, I have read many threads under addiction/recovery of people having an addiciton to Ultram. So, if that is any concern to you, I would suggest looking at that forum. Good luck!

Thumbs down Re: ultram for migraines

[FONT=Arial]I tried Ultram also and it didn't even touch my migrane--I only felt sleepy and groggy, but unable to sleep because of the pain.

Re: ultram for migraines

I've had migraines for 30 years. Ultram is just one of the many drugs I've tried. I might as well have taken nothing. No benefits, no side effects, no nothing.
I can't believe people could get addicted to this. But then I stopped fioricet, which my neurologist called very addictive, cold. And percocet and vicodin don't have the effect on me that they seem to have on others.
Anyway, for me, taking an ultram is like taking nothing at all.

Re: ultram for migraines

Even the "narcotics" did not touch my headache. I was talking Vicodin- 20-30 during the 2 weeks or so out of the month that I have migraines and they didn't do a thing for me. I never had a problem "not" taking the meds, I know a lot of people get very addicted to them but they never did anything for me or my headaches.
