Chiropractor or MRI for headaches
I have been having bad headaches for a long time now, I am begining to think they are related to my neck and upper back area. I am debating whether to go to chiropractor first or have a MRI done first. I have been living with headaches for many many years and just ready for them to go away. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks

Hello Twinkle...
I have been having headaches for the past 6 months or so...the worst...I called my doctor....(a neurologist) and she has scheduled me for an MRI on Friday. Today my headache is gone and I feel a little foolish going in for the test....but....my point is...the doctor made the decision to do the test...don't you have to have a refferal for that test??? I also have
epilepsy and my father died from an aneurysm...That may contribute to the doctors decision.

No with my insurance I don't have to have a referal. That is the good thing about it.I finally decided to make appointment to see a neurologist, so I will be seeing her on Thursday. I am anxious to see what she says. Many people have said she likes to give out medicine alot. But I take so many as it is now. I really would like to get a MRI done, as I really feel the headaches are stemming from something wrong with my back and neck.
