Barometric Pressure and Headaches ???? - Headaches & Migraines Message Board

Does anyone else notice that when the barometric pressure drops they get headaches?

I'm in GA and that jet stream that was dipping down from the north hit us a couple days ago and I have the MOTHER of all headaches that nothing I have on hand is challenging.

Curious if other people are suffering with headaches from the weather.

Usually once the storm arrives the headaches subside. Not this time. The rain is here and sooooooo is this headache

Yep! I have the same problem. I live in FL and I really suffer in the summer when the humidity is higher. I also notice that when there is a hurricane or tropical storm in the ocean, by the time it is within about five to six hundred miles away I start to get a terrible headache. My former principal was the same way. He once had to leave school and go home with a migraine and it was right before a big thunderstorm emerged. The next day I asked him about it and he told me that it almost always effects him that way. I guess it is somewhat common.

yep me too, I live in md. I notice a dramatic difference and an increase in frequency.

Hi there!
My mom suffers from migraine headaches and they are also a result of the barometric pressure changing. She doesn't even have to watch the weather to know when it's going to rain/storm. It's crazy. Once the storm passes, she feels better. We are in Arkansas and so the weather is always changing from one extreme to the other. If she takes Maxalt right when she feels a pain, she can usually head it off. If not, she is confined to bed for a whole day or two. Btw, she panics when she's out of Maxalt! It really helps her.

yes, i agree. it is possible for the air pressure to affect one's physiology and give us headaches/migraines. it's always been one of the triggers for me as well. i hate it when i know it'll rain!!! but i keep hoping "maybe i won't feel it this time."
