trying to sleep on topamax - Headaches & Migraines Message Board

I just went up to 50 mg of Topamax at night for my migraines. I cannot sleep!!! I need help!! Did anyone else experience this? All the other side effects I have but I can handle but the sleep issue I cannot! Someone please give me some feedback does it get better when you go up because I go to 75 mg next week.

I guess it only gets worse. I knew I was having trouble sleeping, but didn't connect the two. Some nights I question if I have slept at all! I get B12 shots too, so fortunately I'm not dragging during the day.

I take 50 mgs at night also but I don't notice a problem sleeping yet. But if I do, I plan on asking my doctor if I can split up my dose to 25 mgs in the morning and 25 mgs at night. Some people say this helps. Ask your doctor, s/he will know.

Take a 25mg Unisom tablet ha;f an hour before bedtime on alternate nights.
