For the past 3 yrs my headaches have been getting worse..I take 40mg of relpax and I take fieoricet....Well I got a ct scan today and I was suprised how short this was..I was in there I would say 2 min worth of scan time she stopped the scan came in the room and fulled around with the machine told me to be very still and I would say I had about another 5 min worth of scanning.....I thought it would atleast take 20 to 30 min....I guess everything is so advanced it doesn't take that long...Also, I suppose if she had seen anything it would of taken longer....My mom and grandmother both died from aneurysems(sp) in the same spot of the brain and I wanted to make sure I didn't have one....I also have been getting this tingling feeling in the same spot of my brain for about a year now...It feels like a million bugs crawling in one spot, yuck...It doesn't happen often maybe only like every 3months...Anyways, if anyone else has had a short ct scan let me know...Tks, Ralinda

I had one last saturday. Yeah mine was only like 5 minutes, in and out, not too bad. Came back clear too

. Unfortunately, I have to wait until tomorrowwhen I see my neurologist to find out the cause of my headaches.

CT Scans usually don't take very long. You were no exception.

CT scans are usualy performed

1. because the patient expects/demands one

2. For legal rather than medical reasons

A CT scan is very short, as you say, modern equipment can complete a thorough scan in 5 minutes.

Have you seen a physical therapist about your headaches?

Fioracet is a strange cocktail, a low dose of acetaminophen, a low dose of caffeine, and a barbiturate with no known analgesic activity.

You may do better with a specific medication, for example an analgesic plus a triptain if it is migraine like, or an analgesic plus a muscle relaxant if it is "tension type" headache.

A combination of 2 Advil PLUS 2 percogesic can be suprisingly effective.

Did they do the CT scan because you asked for it? Did they do it because you wanted to know if you had an anuersym? Did they use the contrast dyes?
How were your mom and grandmothers anuresyms found?
I had a CT scan that lasted no more than 5 minutes.
