Weird headache problem...
For about a week or two I was having a really weird feeling on the top right of my scalp/head, almost like a light buzzing. I wasn't sure what it was -- figured it would go away -- and so I let it go. Well, this week I've been having headaches and a stiff neck. It's off and on, never constant for over a couple hours.
I would usually just blow things like this off, but I'm afraid it might be something out of the norm that might be related to other things going on, which is either:
1. something caused by a very bad inner ear problem I've been having (that's been causing a "stuffy head" feeling for a long, long time) -- fluid behind the eardrums, whatever the medical term is.
2. I had a tooth infection I didn't know about for many months, and antibiotics never totally killed it, although they almost did. The tooth will be extracted in a month or two, but I've heard this can cause a "brain abscess" -- I have a friend who's a PhD MD that assured me that's literally impossible to happen, and that if it ever did, it was one in a trillion. (He's a professor at a University I used to go to, but for some reason I'm not feeling very assured.)
The only reason I jump to these causes is because I've never had headaches in my entire life. Never. And now that it hits when I've had some other things arise just causes alarm.
I'll be seeing my Dr. in a week or so, but I can't imagine what he'll do to figure it out; I'm hoping it doesn't get blown off as a headache when it might be something else.
In any case, I know there are some experts here (professionally or personal experience)... and hopefully come to this thread to shed some advice either on what it could be, or if I should ask for any special tests that my Dr. wouldn't give in general (just to make sure he doesn't forget it like it's a regular headache -- even if it really is... doubt it).
Thanks for reading. Cheers.
