Please Someone HELP!!! - Headaches & Migraines Message Board

Hello,
I have been getting some severe migranes and don't understand why! I have been fortunate all my life without headaches and now all of a sudden have them so bad I end up vomiting. I am in so much pain I think about going to the hospital. I can't eat lately, its causing me to sleep less, because of the pain. I was just diagnosed with thyroid disorder and started taking my medicine for that 2 months ago. I am wondering if this is the cause?! I never had any type of headaches till this! I just don't understand it. Does anyone here know?!

Go to a doctor... It can be really serious... Cross your fingers that it is just a migraine. If it is a migraine then the doctors can give you medication to treat them. It could be a troke, or a brain tumor. If you can't figure out where they come from - GO TO A DOCTOR!!!

I had a problem with getting headaches while taking thyroid medication also. I used to get headaches everytime I took any type of hormones. Birth control, estrogen, progesterone and also thyroid medication.

Check the literature that came with your thyroid medication and see if migraines/headaches are listed as a side effect of this medication. The symptoms you describe are classic migraine and could be caused by medication. If this is one of the side effects of your medication then call and speak with your doctors nurse to let her know what is going on and have her check with the doctor as to what he would like you to do. If migraines/headaches are NOT listed as a side effect of this med then you need to make an appointment to see the doc to get this checked out. Good Luck.

I am new here, but not new to headaches!!! DON'T LET A DOCTOR "PAT YOU ON THE HEAD" AND TELL YOU IT IS JUST STRESS. MAYBE SO, BUT THAT DOESN'T LESSEN THE PAIN!!!

Sorry about the caps. I really meant that tho. I have been suffering from severe headaches since last fall, and now they have FINALLY diagnosed me as having a torn disc. Now, I am on predisone, and the headaches that is causing me is killing me. Don't know if I'll ever find releive. But don't let'em poo poo ya!!! Make them take you seriously. If they don't find a doctor who will!
