Stadol nasal spray for severe headaches - Headaches & Migraines Message Board

Has anyone tried stadol for headaches? My Dr.(neurologist) wants me to try it; I explained that other pain meds I have tried make me very sick and dizzy but I still have pain. My stomach is already sensitive due to an antidepressant I am taking to help me sleep. (trazadone) it seems to help with a deeper sleep for me. Thanks in advance for any info.

My doctor gave me an injection of Stadol once.... and I thought I was going to die! I guess I had a reaction to it, but I couldn't walk, and I felt like I was going to pass out. So I definitely would not recommend Stadol. But it could be different for you.

Yes, I would highly recomend Stadol NS. Please make sure you have an accountability partner before you start using it. Your husband, your dr, etc. I have an outstanding agreement with my dr. that I only get one bottle a month. NO MORE. It is a highly addictive substance. Make sure you keep it out of reach of kids hands. I get cluster headaches and percacet and vicodin don't cut it for me always so if that fail to abort my headache after imitrix ns then I take stadol ns. If that fails than I go to ER and get shot dilauadid.
It has kept my but out of the ER many of nights. I would not recomend driving on it until you have taken it at least 3 or 4 times and see how you feel. I will make you very tired, light headed, and you will want to sleep. Forget trying to carry on a conversation with anyone. It is like liquid morphine very potent.

Hi!

As you can see there is a mixed reaction to Stadol. I have heard that it helps many people and others, like me, it is almost like I was allergic to it.

You got great advice. Make sure someone is with you when you try it the first few times, don't drive and be very careful with it. Like many drugs it is great if used properly. Don't fall into the trap that if a normal does works than double the normal dose will work better.
